Charlene Cosgrove-Bowie's son is L/Cpl Chris Cosgrove III and she is co-founder of Legacy Of A Hero The L/Cpl Chris Cosgrove III Foundation, Inc.  In addition to her work with LOAH, she is an active member of the Marine Corps League Slattery Detachment #206 in Whippany, NJ, and a member of The Gold Star Mother’s organization.

Charlene worked at Picatinny Arsenal in the Family, Morale, Welfare & Recreation Department for 10 years after leaving Prudential.

Charlene was with Prudential Financial for 31 years.  She had a variety of assignments throughout her career there.  She was Manager of the Information Security area where she worked to implement technology tools and processes to assess compliance of applications related to Information Security Rules and Requirements and Privacy Laws.  In addition, she had oversight for the area’s multi-million dollar budget.  She also taught technology classes while working in the Education & Development Center at Pru where she also managed the area budget and student record-keeping system.  She had involvement in organizing Education Conferences and various other events.

Charlene lived in Cedar Knolls with her son Chris and husband Art for 18 years but now resides in Roxbury Township, NJ with Art.

Renee Artiges recently retired and was the Vice President of Infrastructure and SysDev at Prudential Financial. She worked for Prudential since 1984. She is an experienced Agile Coach helping organizations reach business agility through the alignment of business, technology, and organizational processes using the latest Agile/Lean principles and techniques. She was leading the Agile Adaption at Prudential.

Renee graduated from Caldwell University with a B.S. in Business Administration and Management.

Alice Capparucci has worked for Prudential Financial since 1981.  She started her career as a secretary and worked her way up to a Senior Executive Assistant after 28 years.  She then left the secretarial field and became a DCN Associate, IT Infrastructure for eight years and was responsible for on/offboarding of new employees/consultants -- but her dream was to go back to the secretarial field.  Back in 2017, she was approached by one of the Executives and was asked to become her Executive Assistant along with three other VPs.

 

Alice attended and graduated from Berkeley College, Garret Mountain, West Paterson, NJ for Secretarial studies in the one-year program.

 

Alice is devoted to volunteering for the foundation, “Legacy Of A Hero”.  She is focused on making an impact throughout her community

John picture

John Capasso, Jr. is a financial analyst with Prudential Financial. Pivoting from academic research, John leverages the skills he developed in data analysis and statistics to help drive business solutions. In his spare time, John has always sought opportunities to impact his community at large. The son of a 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing unit member, John was raised on the principle that service is the foundation of community. From attending Kiwanis events as a child with his father to leading a group of 100 college-aged men to over 6,000 hours of community service, John has tried to embody the spirit of service.

 

John chaired the VETNET business resource group at Prudential, focusing on facilitating the professional development of associates and communicating the needs of Veterans in the workplace. He is also a committed United Service Organizations volunteer. The synergies of his involvement led him to ultimately accept the role of Treasurer, and a seat on the Board of Directors for Legacy of a Hero.

 

John holds a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University and an MBA from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Russ Picture

Russ Yorks is responsible for managing the Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS) programs once they are operationalized. Through his team of Directors, Regional Managers, and Client Service Managers, WOS has worked with over 70 companies, helping thousands of military veterans and early career adults build their skills and find employment. He joined WOS in July 2011 as a Client Service Manager running the Prudential veterans program in Ft. Washington, PA.  Prior to joining WOS, Russ worked in commercial mortgage banking, underwriting multimillion–dollar assets for a top FHA lender.  Russ holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master of Arts in Economics and Education from Columbia University.  Russ also brings a military background to WOS as a Technical Sergeant serving in the Air National Guard.
